Eiffel Tower

(40 Ratings)
Yes, that iconic landmark!
The Eiffel Tower can be seen from many points throughout Paris, but there’s nothing quite like ascending to the top for unparalleled panoramic views of the City of Lights. Dusk is the best time to go, and yes, braving the long lines and many flights of stairs is entirely worth it. The adjacent Champs de Mars is a lively summer evening picnic spot and also the site of an amazing fireworks display on La Fête de la Bastille (July 14).

Top 10 must see's in Paris

So glad they did have the elevator, my father never would have experienced the magnificence of Paris below us. It is truly a wonderful structure to see and look at. Yes the lines are very long but worthy of the wait.

Iconic Parisian Landmark

When I think of Paris, I think of the Eiffel Tower. What would a trip to this beautiful city be without a visit to the Eiffel Tower? When it was completed in 1889, it was the world's tallest structure (replacing the Washington Monument with that designation). This is definitely worth a visit, but I have to warn you that the lines to get all the way to the top were horrendous on both of my visits. So I've never been all the way up. You can walk up the stairs to the first and second levels, or use the elevators. The Eiffel Tower is an iron structure that I found interesting but not particularly attractive on close inspection. But with night lighting, it is transformed into a beautiful sight.
